New York Jets WR Omar Cooper Jr. and WR Isaiah Williams are "engaged in a battle" for the No. 3 receiver job, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN.com.
Huddle Up: Cooper has been unable to secure the No. 3 receiving role thus far, and while he still has plenty of long-term appeal, his chances of making an immediate impact seem questionable. At best, Cooper looks like a late-round lottery ticket in redraft leagues.

New York Jets WR Omar Cooper Jr. has been struggling to create consistent separation during practices and has also been inconsistent with his fundamentals, in the opinion of JetsWire's Justin Melo.
Huddle Up: Cooper was expected to compete for the No. 3 receiver job during camp, but the Jets may consider easing him into the offense during the regular season. He could be a late round pick in deeper leagues but will not be a starting option most weeks.

New York Jets WR Omar Cooper Jr. has shown some inconsistencies during training camp, but wide receivers coach Shawn Jefferson said that is normal for a rookie.
Huddle Up: Cooper was expected to have a solid role during his rookie season, but he may be eased into the offense early in the season if he does not perform well during preseason games. He can still be a late round option in some deeper leagues but is unlikely to be a starting fantasy option most weeks.

New York Jets WR Omar Cooper Jr. was the team's 'most impressive rookie in the spring' and has all but solidified a spot in the team's three-receiver package, in the opinion of Rich Cimini of ESPN on Monday, June 29.
Huddle Up: Cooper, the team's 30th overall pick in the first round, should give the Jets a serious talent infusion next to Garrett Wilson on a Jets team that sorely needs talent and skill. Despite that, the Jets' offense isn't a great one to tether your hopes to in fantasy football. Consider Cooper bench depth at wide receiver with the hopes that he can show enough promise to be fantasy relevant in his rookie season.

New York Jets first-round draft choice WR Omar Cooper Jr. agreed to terms on a four-year contract with the Jets Monday, June 1, worth $17.5 million, according to a source.
Huddle Up: Cooper should be at least the No. 3 receiver for the Jets and could compete for the No. 2 job during training camp. He should see a handful of targets each game in 2026 and can be a No. 4 or No. 5 receiver in fantasy leagues.

Indiana WR Omar Cooper Jr. was selected by the New York Jets with the No. 30 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Huddle Up: Cooper's calling cards is his ability to make plays after the catch, and he should slide into the starting lineup as a rookie, teaming with Garrett Wilson. The Jets still need to address their quarterback situation, so Cooper's upside could be capped a bit in 2026. His long-term outlook is more favorable, and he deserves to be a top-10 pick in rookie drafts.
